Premiere release screenings 1927-8

Metropolis premiered at two theatres in Berlin on 10 January 1927 - the Ufa-pavillon, Nollendorfplatz, and the ....... Ufa-Palast am Zoo on 10 January 1927. It subsequently ran for 3 months before being withdrawn, re-edited, and re-released in a shortened version.

Sendlingeter Lightspiele, Munich, 1927. Ufa theatre during the second release run of Metropolis in August 1927. Note the wide variety of posters on display, including two of the large original release 3-sheet posters on the columns in the centre and on the right of the building.
